UPCAST® – a versatile process for production of pure metals and alloys
Applications for alloyed coppers and copper alloys continue to develop rapidly. Although the majority of UPCAST® units produce oxygen-free copper rod and SGTube, many other non-ferrous materials can be cast as well.
For example, zip fasteners are made of brasses and nickel silvers, tin or phosphor bronzes are used in mobile phones and silicon bronze and brasses are suitable for high-quality screws. Copper magnesium is a good material, for example, for grooved contact wire for high speed trains, automotive wire harnesses, electrical and electronic connectors and connector wires.
